The guy around the corner from me when I was a kid had a garage that was almost that...full. Had a pile against one wall, bench down the other. He had a certificate on the wall that read "Doctor of Motors".

This reminds me that a new episode of "Hoarders" is on tonight at 10 on A&E network. One of the patients is a man. I bet his garage isn't as bad as this. But hey, those are all good engine parts right?

That is a fortune in scrap and usable parts in a third world country...

I plow for a very good friend of mine who has a couple of sheds like that stuffed with Ford parts. The stuff is always spilling out the door and into the yard for me to hit with the plow. It doesn't hurt the plow any but it's funny to see the pile of stuff on the other side of the yard every spring when the piles melt.

My neighbor had a 21/2 car garage that looked that bad. On days when the city had junk pick up days he would get his 2 sons and on the night before he would hit the streets with a trailer, it did not matter what it was he would bring it home. He later died of a heart attack and left it all for his wife to get rid of.

I swear I have seen this picture on the net.

If I recall correctly, it was when I was looking at melting and casting aluminum. I did find a lot of information for building a furnace and pouring aluminum into molds.

When you look at places like the one in the photo, you quickly discover that it isn't rocket science.

The fact that they are DOING it means that it doesn't require high tech or lots of money to do some of these things.

I've seen that picture before. I believe it is from some guys overseas in the military and they scored a bunch of rare motorcycle parts. I think it was a motherlode of sorts for a time.
