I see there is a KD tools version made by GearWrench, you can get the set new (the eBay ones are used) for $87.31 here, link link 2 (Amazon $78.39 ). Probably less at other places.

Yep, and The seller knows what he's doing b/c he covered his but with the hard to read text that some people will just glance over.
A brand new set costs less than $80.
There are also a few 0 and 1 rep bidders, which may even be shill accounts.

To be honest, he very clearly, many times, says they are gearwhench wrenches. He also states they were bought ooff a snap on truck.
I wouldn't do it in my auctions but I think he is legit. Why report? Cause your all hating on the guy. He has creative marketing. Cut the guy slack.

Just because he says they were bought off a Snap-on truck, doesn't mean it's true.
There's also a fine line between creative marketing and potentially deceptive marketing. Whether it's intentional or not, a lot of people will be fooled by the product description.

Gearwench is not its own brand per se. They are listed under KD tools for most online tool vendors and suppliers. On the back of Gearwrench packaging there's usually a statement about Gearwrench being a divison of Easco tools. Easco was absorbed by Danaher into KD tools back the 1980's.
It is always buyer beware on Ebay. A person really needs to pay attention to detail, cross reference part numbers, and ask questions. If things don't jive, pass on the auction. Hell, if unsure post a link here and there are numerous people that will either out bid you or tell the auction is ****.

They may say Gearwench as the brand but, the easco line is still on the backside. Look at part numbers on thetoolwarehouse, tooltopia, and others and the prefix is KDT

I got an auction pulled today cause I put "like new" in the title and ebay considers that manipulation to attract buyers. It is to attract buyers, but it describes its condition.

Shame on the fool who bid that high, but c'mon on the "item specifics" portion of the ad, next to "Part Brand" he wrote "Snap On Tools". For someone to go through that much trouble making smoky mirrors, I wouldn't be suprised if he was big rigging that item. I reported him as well.
