Something Doesn't Seem Right Here. Snap On or Stack On?

I'm no Snap On Toolbox expert like some of you, but something about this listing doesn't add up.

It's even more suspicious that the "logo broke off".

Surely he saved "the broken logo" to show the potential buyer that it is indeed a Snap-On. Maybe we should overwhelm him with picture requests of the broke off logo...

Snap On did a Blue Point line of boxes that looked really cheap. Could be that K-Mart reject is a Blue Point and not a Snap On.

Dumb-*** said he bought it new off the truck a few years ago for $300.00. I highly doubt a Snap-On box of that size would sell for that.

Does snap on put a serial number or something special on their boxes to show if its authentic or not? The reason im asking is because a friend of mine just bought a used tool box in where the seller claimed it was snapon but i think otherwise.There is no snapon label on it anywhere. My friend likes it and believes its snapon or wants to believe its snapon. I dont want to bring him down and tell him his box is generic because honestly i dont care but would really like to know how to identify real authentic snapon boxes for future reference.

Model numbers on the boxes started in about the mid 50s. Show us a pic.

The only thing I know of is on my '03 KRL, they put barcode (I think?) and definitely serial #'s on a sticker on the rear of the box. Said stickers seem relatively durable but could certainly come off or be peeled off, and if it's ever been repainted all bets are off. I don't know if they put any identifiers in a less conspicuous spot, like inside under the drawers.

So basically if it doesnt have a snapon sticker, its just a seemingly everyday run of the mill tool box with a hefty price tag? Wow i would have thought that a high end company like snapon would have identifiers on their products to ensure the public which items are genuine snapon and which are knockoffs.

There is a mark stamped on the back of every Snapon box I have except one really old one it's usually in a corner and even if painted would show through in good sunlight u would atleast have to lay down some thick paint to cover it

Convenient that his kid took off the tag and his logo fell off and he threw it away. BB322 doesn't turn up any results that I could find. The plot thickens!

That's not a Snap On.....to answer the other questions about markings, Snap On stamps the box on the inside, outside on older ones. I've found them mostly to the bottom right side after you pull drawers. On my taco cart it was on the bottom outside and took sanding to find. I can't say this is true for every box but my SO guy says it is and I've found them on all mine.

You need to post a pic of it because after the link is dead this thread is worthless.

Now that folks can see this cheap POS it's doubtful it cost more than $30 brand new. So him buying it off a Snap On truck is completely laughable.

It does look to be Stack On but even they would try to deny they ever manufactured this.
