Well, not only did I list some things on ebay, I sold some all ready. Next week is when they start taking consignments for the big spring auction, so this weekend will be a little crazy. I have made a mental list of things that are headed there, but I need to actually write things down. The nice thing is it will clear up some much needed space as well as bring in some funds to help pay for things I need!

Other than the fact that I did not take any pictures, I think you guys would be proud. I had a bunch of things to do this morning, so I did not even get to the shop until 2PM. I started trying to figure out how I was going to modify a rubber piece (well 80 of them) for tomorrow's job. I had them in the freezer so they would be harder. I have to enlarge a hole, but the parts are split down the middle kind of like split loom, except thick rubber about 2" long. They are used to hold some specialty cables on towers. I was supposed to go to HF and buy some cheapo vise grips, but I forgot, that meant either waste another hour or murder some Irwins. I decided to sacrifice them.
The problem was when you tried to drill these pieces out, the seem would open up and the drill would either rip apart the rubber or not drill anything. I found some pipe that had the same inside diameter as the OD of the rubber piece and I cut it down the middle (lengthwise), then I welded it to each jaw of the Irwins and I had myself a nice clamp. Once I got going it went pretty quick, but I should not have taken all of them out of the freezer at once. The last 30 were definitely harder to work with after warming up.
That took care of the first problem, next one was making a bracket to hold some electrical style boxes at the base of the tower. I did not have any stainless (never really welded it either), but I did have aluminum. I started gathering up the parts and cleaning up the metal. Of course I realized that I could not plug in the welder were it was (I moved it last fall!), so I had to shuffle things around and move the entire stack rack out to the middle of the shop so I could get to the plug and actually get things started. Then I couldn't find the spool gun, then I couldn't find my stainless wire brushes. I found the spool gun, but never did find the stainless brushes. I guess I really don't care, it was only made to keep things from rusting.
I gathered a ton of supplies and miscellaneous tools so I can finish the fabrication tomorrow. Hopefully I have everything I need.

Tomorrow I can start bringing things to the AUCTION! I have gotten vindictive and things that I never thought about sending are going. I want to have room to do the projects that really matter to me.
I have a few things that I am still unsure about, so I have to do some more figuring. I also moved a few cabinets around. I was just struggling with the layout and I think what I have done (somewhat returning things to an earlier state) will work much better. I have an old hobby (RC cars and trucks) that I miss and I am hoping that this layout will be a little easier for me to pick up where I left it about 8 years ago. I had originally set things up with that in mind, but I shuffled stuff around, so now I have the powered lift workbench back under all the cabinets that were supposed to be for my electronics and RC stuff. It meant that I had to move the giant vidmar once again, but I had help from Nate and that made it a lot better. I basically just swapped one with the other. Everything is a mess since we had to move a lot to make room to get around the corner. So far it doesn't feel wrong, just different.

Here is some of the stuff that Nate and I dug out yesterday. Today I will try and get through some of the misc smaller stuff. I have some things that will be better to sell on ebay, so I have to figure out how much effort I can put out. I will also get a few of the cabinets out of the shop, it will make me feel better.
Of course after getting through the large stuff yesterday, now the small stuff is almost painful. I keep finding more stuff! I hope to fill the suburban tonight, drop off a load in the morning and then start bringing the bigger stuff over in the afternoon. Hopefully I will have everything over there by Thursday.

The way I look at the auction is the overall amount I get. It is usually decent, some things will sell so cheap it would freak a sane person out. Other things will bring more than retail. I like it when that happens. I usually go to the auction and keep tabs on my items, just so I have an idea of what I will make. The problem with this is that I am tempted to buy more items. This auction is the one to sell things, buyers are usually paying too much. The summer auction is the one that tends to bring low bids, because most people don't want to spend a "nice" day at an auction. I guess what I am trying to say is that I may not attend this one at all. I guess it will have to wait until the preview, sometimes there is something I "can't" live without.

I made cargo nets for a mountain top job, the nets were lined with tarps so smaller stuff would not fall out. It was either this or carry everything up the last 1/2 mile, also the steepest parts. I have been holding on to them for years, I know now I will not use them again and if I do need netting again, there are many stores that will store it for me!

I am trying to neaten things up for the day you show up, I don't want to be embarrassed!
Work hard. I'm not going to give you a big warning.
I have had just about enough sorting for the evening. I have a full truckload to drop off in the morning. Of course the weather looks like ****, so it will make things a lot less fun. Regardless, the overall goal it to get rid of a lot of stuff and that is what I am going to do!

Forgot all about this thread. Good to see you've been making some progress.
I am still plugging away. The next couple of days should be good for a few updates. I may end up with a bit of a mess, since I am having to empty a bunch of cabinets that are headed to the auction. I figure it my be a few steps backwards, but I can see the forward progress, at least in my head.

I had hoped for more progress, but I got sidetracked helping my Dad get a couple of things ready for the auction. I also had to get the spare tire for the ramp truck, since it has a flat. If it won't take air, I have to remove and install by hand, no air and only a 3/8" impact right now.
I am dropping off more stuff this morning, then I will take another full load over. Then I will go over to my brother's place and help him load up some stuff for the auction, then I will try and get another load together for me, that may have to wait until wednesday to get unloaded. I figured that this week would be messed up with auction deliveries and everything else
Two more loads today, I guess the auctioneer says I have over 100 lots so far. I have a few more things, then I have to figure out if I am selling the 2000 gallon tank or putting it in the auction. Nate is coming over to help me load the rest of the stuff tonight, then I will drop it off in the morning. I guess after that I have one more trip to drop off the reel trailer, then I will have some breathing room. Tonight we are also going through all my porta power stuff and picking out the worst/least used stuff to send over. Tonight it is supposed to snow, possibly a couple of inches of wet stuff. I hate snow.

6" on the ground here this morning.
I do not know what is at my shop yet, but I got about 2" at the house. I really feel for you, I don't care how much I have at the shop, I am not plowing.
To top it off, it is still spitting snow.
I went through my porta power stuff with Nate and the consensus was to keep almost all of it and the roll around cabinet. We went through and made sure things worked, anything that didn't was put in a box to let someone else fix!
We loaded up the trailer last night, so this will be my last load. I shuffled things around so I could get to the big tank, hopefully I will know about that by Saturday at the latest. I need to put the shop back in shape, it looks like a tornado went through and took all the cabinets and carts, leaving everything that was on or in them behind.

I know this is (kinda) a joke, but I am looking forward to a few pics once the jumble is slotted into their new spots that were opened up. No new shelving, work with what you have!
Also, be sure to do your "shopping" outside in the conex containers. If you are anything like me, you have stuff stored out there "temporarily" until you have space in the shop. Now is that time.
Here's to hoping you make some decent cash at the auction, and don't spend it all at the auction!

Thanks Kev, I will definitely update with some new pics. The overall plan is to actually sell one of the boxes to my buddy Nate. I will be consolidating things even more, I still have a ton of tools to sell on ebay as well.
I am actually sitting in my recliner right now with two throbbing toes. I went to the podiatrist this afternoon and he cut me up pretty good. I hate ingrown toenails almost as much as snow. This was my second surgery in two years, he thinks this will be the last time and I hope so. I guess this means that I am out of commission until Saturday, but I got all the major stuff to the auction.
Did the doc mention anything about using straight clippers instead of curved? The outside edges of the nail remain above the skin and helps keep the center from submarining. Of course, if you're getting surgeries, that's a pretty bad issue.
