You had me seeing things for a second there with your Ninja edit skills....
I am trying to keep the arm low key, so it should not be too bad. I also have a compression sleeve that seems to help and ice packs in the freezer. I figure I will ice it at lunch time, then switch gears to lighter stuff.

Maybe you guys will laugh, but today I am using the charger that I repaired. I figured I better babysit it to make sure it was working as expected. Well, I have had the forklift and charger for a few years now and I don't think the charger ever worked correctly. I think the fan was always acting funny and because it was not cooling things properly the charger kicked off thermally. The charger is holding at 30 amps, where it used to drop off to almost nothing within minutes. I just assumed that was how it worked. I cam really curious to see how well the battery gets charged now. On a plus note, it is much quieter than before, however with all the airflow I can now smell the heat that is created by the charger.
On a upsetting note, (hopefully repairable) my air compressor will not make any air over 60 PSI. I think it is the unloader valve leaking, in my head it could keep the secondary unloader form ever starting so I essentially only have a single stage pump? It sounds good to me, but only time will tell. I may be able to order my parts tomorrow, luckily all I needed to do was put air in my car tires.

Ouch. That ***** about the compressor. I hope it's not a leaking head gasket or a broken valve plate.
The battery charger does seem to be working well, I will be curious to see how the charge holds versus what it has been holding before.
With the compressor, it seems more likely that the unloader is just allowing air to bypass after it gets to a certain PSI. The unloaders have rubber gaskets that tend to crack and I would assume based on age that they are due for replacement regardless. That is definitely where I will start, if it becomes obvious that there are other issues, I can always use the other pump.

I wasn't questioning your diagnosis, I don't know jack **** about compressors (as you might remember our conversation last summer). I hope it is something simple and easy to fix.

Two stage compressord just pipe the first stage exit thru a finned cooler directly to the 2nd stage inlet. Unloaders are on the 2nd stage outlet.

The battery charger is still humming away, it is done to about 20 amp output now, so I would say that it is working the way it was supposed to work. I am going to be curious to see how the battery reacts after subsequent charges.
I did not get everything that I wanted done, but I got plenty done and more started. Tomorrow will only be a half day at the shop, the rain will keep me inside, so I should be able to get a few more things done. The Snap On guy bought some of my tools, gave me more than I could have made selling them on eBay, so we were both happy. Here are some of the things that went on today:

Hey Rich, you would be happy, I am still pushing forward.
Got the computer torn apart, this is much easier than I would have ever thought, getting the plugs undone was probably the worst part and even that was not bad. The thing that took me the longest to figure out was where the thermal sensor should go on the new drive. Once I figured that out, it was quick and easy. I spent about 45 minutes from start to finish, this included UPS showing up, me having to clean all the dust out of the fans, and my internet search on another computer.
It is now doing its thing installing the OS, once that is done I have a wall mount assembly that needs to be installed, so that will be the next project. Overall this should be a great addition to the office, so it is well worth the time to me. Some of the scary pictures of disassembly, I did not take any pictures once I got going, it just seemed like it was too much effort.

Then realized it was too high for me and had to take it back apart and reinstall it a few inches lower. Then I mounted a couple small shelves and got things prepped for the new corner shelves that I will hopefully install tomorrow.
The forklift battery charger is working very well, I bought some more distilled water and tomorrow I will add whatever is needed. Then maybe I can use the forklift to get a few more things down from my racking.

I rarely get uptight about stuff, people throw the word OCD around when it is not really that, but it did bug me seeing that square tube leaned right smack in the middle of the bay for over half a year. Talk about killing space!
I wonder if you couldn't rotate the drill press from hell 90 degrees and give yourself the ability to work on the big lift truck or something else long term while leaving the other bay available too.
P. S. My god you have a lot of tools lying around!
I totally understand winter storage, piling things inside is something I do with the pole building as I do not heat it. I yearn to not actually have to do that anymore, and it will happen.

At least we are in this together. I am not looking at this as a quick fix. It took me years to get to the point that I realized it was a problem. Now I am trying to establish new habits and undo my mess. Some of my obstacles are financial, some are mental, and others are physical. I figure another few years and things will really start to be where I want.

I really like reading this stuff! I too had a battery charger that had a bad fan. An old Marquette that I tested, repaired the cables and it works great! The fan bushings were gone and it would run for a few seconds, rattle, hum, stop for a few more seconds...repeat!
Search for a factory fan was fruitless so I cannibalized an old hair dryer for the fan. Seems to work great, but with any repair, It is on limited use until I get confidence.
It is about changing habits. I find that I get more relaxed when I am sorting a box or tote full of unknown stuff. My stuff is always a mixture of shop stuff and just life stuff so it is always an adventure. Pulled a tote and 2 boxes yesterday and sorted and the only shop stuff was a baggie of gaskets for 60s Mustang pop-off gas caps and some Rupp parts. Estes rockets, 1990s football cards, 80s video stuff, 90s computer stuff...
Some days you see a lot...installed my freshly repaired winch on its newly welded receiver hitch mount and test! Other days you spend all day tracing trailer wires to make it legal and utterly fail! (Then you get online and someone suggests checking a certain fuse and you fix it in 2 minutes).
Some days are follow the plan and some days are handle what appears in front of you.

Pretty good explanation Bruce, sometimes I think that I enjoy the organizing more than using the shop. Although I can't wait until I have a clear direction, then I think it will be at somewhat of a balance point. I am never going to be an owner of a pristine shop, I also deal with too many types of things to have a standardized layout, and I never know what I will be working on anyways. I figure it is all about the habits, right now I have lots of bad ones, so every time I get myself into a new good habit it feels really good. I spent the first 35 years of my life doing things one way, so I don't expect to change instantly. This of course is obvious and I have been using this thread to record my journey. Sometimes I wonder why I kept something so long, other times I wish I had kept something longer. Some people can detach themselves from the emotional aspects, but I have a harder time doing that, all I can say is thanks for sticking with me.

You've got us all intrigued at what the final outcome will be. How could we stop checking in to see what you're up to. And it's obvious to anyone how much progress you've made. Keep on truckin' (as they used to say)
Today has been a bit of a waste as far as the shop goes, but I have almost completed the new computer setup. Tomorrow should be better, I have no appointments and the computer should be essentially done. The rest of my socket rails arrived today, so I can finish up my socket organizing as well.
To help me remember for tomorrow:
Install corner shelves
Add water to forklift battery
Setup socket rails
Pack up winter clothes
Order air compressor parts
Order rubber molding for forklift windows
That should be enough, plus there will most likely end up being something else that jumps on the list.

This is one of my restaurant training mantras! I was the guy they called when a store had problems and had my book for my 3 week and 6 week plans. I think it was #4 on my list right after "Bad news quietly and good news loudly!".
21 day rule works amazingly well! I found a sticker that says "Keep your station clean" and stuck it on my workbench and it works!
Wear your hat, put the wrenches back...clean, answer the phone a certain way, check and update my whiteboard daily...try it folks!

Today is creeping along, I have a lot to do, but nothing I really want to do. The weather is so nice, I really want to do something outside, but I know the inside stuff is truly more important at this point. My elbow is still hampering me, but I am pushing forward anyways, just need to be careful what I do. I am loading up my sockets on the new rails so I can clean up the tool box a bit, then I will have lunch. Looks like I am getting a couple deliveries today, so I had not stick around to sign for them. I did add water to the forklift, so that is one thing off my list. After lunch I am going to order the compressor parts that I think I need, the rubber molding may get pushed off until tomorrow as I have to take a bunch of measurements on the forklift before I can order the parts. Not a big deal because it is not a big rush.
One delivery down, of course now I have to make room for the new acquisition and set it up.

As always something gets messed up. Had two calls, one from the doctor, so I had to deal with that, then the other was about a job. The job call turned into two more calls, but hey I got things scheduled so I can make a little money next week. Now I have jobs scheduled for the next three weeks, they are little ones, but every bit counts.
Talked to the Quincy parts guy, he thinks I should tear into the compressors more than I would like to, told me that there are lots of issues they find with pumps that sit for a while. I may mess with that a bit, but my elbow still doesn't want me to over do it, especially with the upcoming jobs.

On nice days, I find it helpful to have the garage door open, and every time I find some small piece of scrap I would normally pile in a corner, I take it out to the trailer and toss it in. Is it "wasting time"? Sure, but I get to go outside 5 extra times. Same thing with "oh, I want to take this home". Walk it out to the truck separately.

Yeah, I have definitely been doing those extra trips outside. I am actually at a decent point where I may take off for the day and enjoy the early evening at home on the deck with some sort of mixed adult beverage. Just a few more things to get down, then I can decide to shuffle the rest of my to do list to tomorrow or not. I feel good about what I have accomplished so far today, I am way ahead of the game overall and I really would like to relax and ice the elbow.

I built a barbeque in my spare time, we just went to the butcher and got steak and are going to try it out. Wish me luck
Definitely wishing you good luck, I wanted to grill tonight, but I think it may have to wait until tomorrow night or this weekend. No big deal, there will be plenty of grilling opportunities to come.
My one errand was to pick up a package, the package had another "new" used computer, but this one is for the house. We use a mac mini for our TV in the living room, so we get all the shows we want without the headaches of trying to deal with a "smart" TV. I am currently updating the software to the most current OS, probably will take me an hour or more to get it all set up, but it should be worth it, the old one was a bottom of the barrel, where this one was like my "new" office computer, very top of the line. I guess as Rich said, wish me luck!
