Good weather's here... better get that TXT in running condition.
Since my back is bothering me so much, I may just have enough to dig it out, not sure about the tires as they are well above my head on a shelf. I hope this weekend my back gets better, I have so much to do and so little time to do it. I feel like the rabbit from Alice in wonderland.

I hope it does feel better soon. And don't stress out over what has to get done. I've come to the conclusion that I'll probably be dead before I finish what projects I already have, say nothing about what might come down the road.

And you do well Strouty, by selling the old to pay for the new.
But when is it big enough and good enough?
I have definite limits because of space.
Another constraint I have is time.
A few days ago I came across a PEXTO 36" shear. Been wanting one forever. Been looking for one forever. This one was much less expensive that the other ones currently listed, by half.
And I had the money in my pocket!
I was set to pick it up last Monday. All I had to do was empty the cabinets out of the van and get it.
But I cancelled. After wasting my time and energy and emotional wherewithal for the whole weekend, anticipating getting it.
Didn't have a ready place for it yet. Didn't want the additional burden of dealing with it.
Should have never looked at CL. It gets me excited and off track.
When everything here is cleaned up and fixed and I have a space all ready for it, I will go looking for another one.

Bill, if you have an immediate use for it, go buy it. If it's going to help you finish the roof or the plumbing or hang the kitchen cabinets go buy it. If it is a piece of equipment to make you feel better about not making progress on the above items, you should pass. $450 could pay someone to use your scaffold and put the shingles on the roof. Now that the weather is warmer, maybe moving cabinets and shuffling garage stuff can wait for snow and ice time. It's your choice.

Bill, could you put up the cabinet in a day or two, No, Because you have so much prep work to do. I feel for you, I really do, And I understand about it mocking you. Been there done that, Have a garage full of junk to the point that it is hard to get one car into a 2 car garage. We are here for you brother. Remember one day at a time. You have made some great strives but you and I both have a long way to go. Hang in there and fill up the trash cans again.

I won't be getting this one, but I wish he's go ahead and sell it.
And Bob and Rich are so right.
I do want to get the cabinets in the house to clear the garage so I can walk through it (Not making room for machines) and to clear the van so I can use it for errands (Not picking up machines).
Looking at all I need to do this summer, it's time to get a move on, with the important things.

be careful wrapping them in plastic, depending on your climate, the plastic and conex create/breed humidity, corrision, rust etc. piston rings rust to cylinders etc.
That is a good point about the moisture. I have a place inside the shop that can house them, so I will have to make a cart for them, then they will still be easy to get to.
At least this morning my back feels a little better, yesterday my neck was hurting too, today it is fine, or at least normal. I got plenty of rest yesterday and a good night of sleep too. I am going to try and limp through the day, hopefully moving around will help things more than hurt.

With my back issues i always found that even sore in the morning, it helped greatly to move around first thing. Seems to free things up.

I think the plan for today is to go with the GF to do some errands. Probably grab some lunch while we are out, the shop is going to have to wait. I will see what tomorrow brings, I hope to get over there and at least try and mount all my new tilt out bins.
I am supposed to borrow my Brother's dump truck this week so I can take some larger bits to the scrap yard. Also need to get the excavator to the job site for the two towers. I want to do some test digging, pretty sure we are going to find ledge for one tower foundation, but it is more of a shale, so I can have someone chip it out if I can't break it apart myself.
On Tuesday I am going to order all the bins I think I need for the 18 drawer lista cabinet, once I can get that thing organized the stockroom will be very usable, or should I say things in the stockroom will be easy to find.

Try not to turn this into a rag on Bill session, he has made some great progress and he has made some mistakes. We all make mistakes, I know I do, it is also easy as can be to call out someone else's problems than it is to deal with your own. This thread showcases problems, solutions, mistakes, shortcomings, adventures, and great advice, try to keep it that way.

Really not ragging on Bill he hasn't updated The Great Little thread and he said he was ready to roll on the water issue before Xmas. I watch a bunch of those hoarder shows and it seems no running water is a big issue with if a home is considered habitable.

Woke up to a better feeling back, still sore, but no where near what it had been. Going to take it easy today and hope tomorrow feels even better. I want to head to the shop this afternoon, I figure at least try and clean up the mess I left the other day just to see how I feel. I also have some paperwork and things that should be listed on ebay. I have been skirting that duty for weeks now. With my back not great it may be the only thing I can do that won't kill it.
Yeah man, use the back pain time to do the boring paper work and ebay listings. I have a few items I need to list as well, may pile them up today and try to get them listed this week after I finish the pallet rack, I'm sure my back will be aching by then.
My GF tricked me, she got me to work on the basement with her, all I had to do is sit and tell her what to keep, toss, or recycle/donate. That worked great for a few minutes, then I started sorting things, then moving them, then lugging them to the truck. Anyways I don't think I totally over did it, but I did more than I should have.
I am now at the shop taking a break, then I have to unload the suburban and unless my back feels OK, I am most likely going home after that. Enough sob stories for one day. I will update with pictures if I get anything done worth reporting.

Unloaded the truck, going to do a quick pickup of the mess from last week, but I think I am essentially done. All the paperwork I wanted to do is sitting in my back pack at the house and the bay stuff is all in boxes on the top shelf of my lista storage wall and I am not feeling up to getting it down. I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day, I am going to spend a few moments reflecting, seems like it is easy to forget why this holiday is honored.
The back is feeling much better today, going to do a bunch of non lifting and bending type things. Tomorrow I have help in the afternoon, so I will have them get the bay items down so I can list them regardless of my back.

I am not sure I can get them replaced by Friday (the day I deliver the machine to the job site), but I am going to try. Even if I can get the side one (biggest one) replaced, that will make all the difference in the world.
I want to unload Bev, but I am going to see how things go, I don't want to overdo it at all. I hope to take it easy for a couple more days then have my normal back again for next week. I find the inversion table a great help. I don't use mine often and I don't hang for long but the difference it makes is blissful.

I just spent the last couple of hours trying to clean the existing lean for one of the windows in the Mitsu, not looking good at all. The old stuff is so bad, I had to go down to 150 grit paper to get the haze off, after stepping back up to 2000 grit in multiple passes and using lots of stepping up the grits as I went, now I have a cloudy lexan instead of an opaque lexan. I have done this with headlights before and it took a while, but not this long! I tried using rubbing compound after that and then some polishing compound with almost no improvement. I have a feeling that maybe if I had a better assortment of tools and sandpaper for the polisher, that it might turn out different. I went back over the same area trying to get a better finish, I ended up burning a couple spots into the lexan, so now I am definitely looking at buying new. I think I may have a couple pieces of plexiglass, but not sure if it is the right thickness and overall dimension. Anyways, looks like another simple project that really isn't.
