I was just looking at my screwdrivers, and this one just didnt look quite right. Is it supposed to be this way, or did i get some sort of defect? Its rounded. I thought all flathead screwdrivers are supposed to be FLAT.

I took a picture of two, one that is round, the other that appears normal for comparison.
The one in question is craftsman professional number 47196

Is that a black handled one or the newer black/red. I'm going to say that isn't normal, unless there's something I don't know.

They cut the corners off. It saved them .0001 of a cent per screwdriver and that savings is keeping them afloat this year.

Just judging by the length of the flat, it looks to me like someone broke the grit-blasted tip off and then ground it down for some other purpose. Is this a secondhand tool?

I was thinking grinder as well. I have the black/red set, a set of the older black handle ones and the light duty red/blue ones. None are rounded...

definitely looks like someone took a grinder to it. Its clearly worn in addition to the sharpened and rounded tip. You may have gnomes dipping into your tools when you arent looking.

Looks like someone made a screw driver into a mini scraper. I've done this before.
