Taiwanese tools such as kabo wrenches and facom and similar, yes. Sonic absolutely not. Also they make nothing
I didn't think F1 would use them. I agree Taiwan makes some fine tools, but agree that Sonic is just an expensively packaged basic set of tools. I haven't handled their ratchets but they look like the same ones available from many companies and generic brands. Sonic Tools are obviously good enough for the race teams to trust, although the are working on cars and bolts in perfect condition. I have some HF and Taiwan ratchets that are great for my DIY use and would have no issue with Sonic other than price.

Sonic sits in an interesting niche where they offer decent tools, decent tool organization and above average storage solutions with fully transparent pricing. All backed by an outside salesforce/ installation crew & long warranty.

If I was going to start a commercial shop within the constraints of an actual budget and needed or wanted the clean/sterile look, Sonic is where it’s at. You don’t get that level of product at that price point from anyone else.

Try and spec a (basic) shop with Sonic vs. Hoffmann Group for example. (And yes, I know Hoffmann can offer solutions/ products that Sonic can only dream of.)

And looking only at the tools, it’s just the same you’ll find from everyone else, decent industrial quality and a few re-brands.

Kind regards,
Olli
