I introduced myself last week, My name is Sonny from Flintstone, GA. My grandfather and best friend who taught me how to work on motorcycles decided that it was his time to leave and suddenly passed away. I, being the only grandson was left his house and 1200 sqft shop. I was asked for pictures so here we go, it is messy as I spent from August until now remodeling the house and I am trying to get it all cleaned up and organized.

I quickly made this board and battery charging station in order to keep the clutter out of the way and house my amplifier for the sound system:

I brought this lift in and this was the last motorcycle my grandfather ever built. Me and him built it together in 2013 and it is my prized possession. 1981 xs650 cafe racer.

I plan to get rid of all the unnecessary junk laying around, clean off the workbench and shelves and install an 8' long whiteboard against the back wall.

I've been a long time lurker. I figure that I would like to chime in on your thread for a random post. Reason? Well, most of my wood working tools (several routers, planer, jointer, shaper drill presses, etc) in my garage were given to me by my grandfather. When he passed away, most of his higher tech tools were given to my dad and I. When I use these tools/equipment, I like to think that I may be making him proud with the completed project.

Sonny, I'm sorry to hear that you've lost you grandfather. It is a rare gift to have some one like that in your life. Enjoy the shop and it will always remind you of your time with him.

By the way, that Yamaha is absolutely cool!

Everytime I fire up one of those machines it brings back instant memories.

Thank you. I built it when I was 20. Engine is a 650 bored to 2nd oversize, running dual 34mm Mikuni flat slides All kickstart. Tops out about 140

I also have a basement garage under the house which you can see in this picture, It's nothing special just used to store my daily bike a 2003 Honda Shadow ACE 750 with a little work, Motorcycle gear, Scuba gear, Skis, Snowboards, Bicycles and camping equipment along with my little Kia Soul

Last night I managed to get all of my motorcycle helmets nd jackets hung on the wall. The four dirtbike helmets there are all helmets I had high level concussions in.

Getting it cleaned up somewhat. Movins some more stuff around and adding another work bench/table tonight. I added the pegboard and whiteboard in the back this weekend.

Oh and of course my 14 year old shop dog
