The 12 kW electric boiler I got a few weeks ago , might get it hooked up this week. I think it should heat the garage alright , it's only 26 x 30 with a 12 x 30 loft.

Nice boiler, I will be doing the same set-up soon please keep posting as you go. did you do much research on the boiler? I to will be using electric. My space is 26×32 2 inch foam 5 inches of concrete and two 290ft.runs of pex.no loft though.i was givin a free hot water tank I used it for a few months but it was expensive to operate yanked it out and checking in to electric boilers. Have you estimated a monthly cost to operate the boiler? Also what brand did you go with?

I bought it used for $800.00. It is only a couple of years old, so I was told. I got the rehau manifold for $220.00 and everything else came with the boiler or I already had it. When I poured the floor I didn't know at the time what I was going to use , I just knew I wanted in-floor heat. There is 2" of insulation under 5" concrete with 16" footings and 3 rows of 5/8 rebar. It has 3 runs of pex that are 250' each and the walls are 6" thick.

All electric heat is 100% efficient, so the cost to heat your shop will be the same with an electric boiler, electric water heater, electric baseboard heat, electric furnace, or a big ol' pile of space heaters.
