Does anyone have a source that will sell one-off double-wall strong cardboard boxes and/or shipping crates?

I ship a fair number of small machine tools, motors, and parts in the sub-100lb range each year. For the fragile ones, I reinforce the inside of the cardboard box with plywood and use Great Stuff Expanding Foam (with the motor/machine plastic bagged). However, it would be a _lot_ easier to skip the plywood step and just get some nicer double-wall 500lb-rated cardboard or buy plywood crates. I cannot find a vender that will sell fewer than 10-packs of cardboard boxes, though.

Alternatively, is there something better that USPS or FEDEX will accept for shipment? Military surplus shipping crates or something?

Most big box stores will give ones that they have from there own shipped items. I use to go to Sears all the time for box crates to ship wheels.

I am confused as far as your location goes but I guessed LA is where you are. These people sell pallets.

Also, you can try Craigslist in your area and search for pallets. Some people give them away.
