Wondering if anyone in the GJ forums knows who might sell a portable air tank with refill fitting like those used in gas stations in europe.

They are generally two gallons or so in volume. Most have a built-in pressure guage. They are designed to sit on a fitting when not in use that allows the tank to refill itself automatically from a compressor air supply.

One of these would be handy around my garage. Griot's did carry one many years ago but no longer.

Harbor Freight is where I bought mine, not nearly as handy as I hoped, but still holds air etc 10 years later. Walmart, Pepboys, too, likely made in the same plant.

I've also seen "kits" to convert old freon tanks, but I don't think thats legal anymore.

I had a beautiful original Bosch tank setup from a German gas station with the J-shaped bell mouthed tube over the top. Acquired it 20 years ago in an old German car shop from a man that just happened to be .....Old..and German. :)
Long gone now but it was definately Cool. Had a huge 200mm gauge on top and air release/fill buttons.
Problem was,as you must well know, the small capacity was useless w/o the air refill recepticle to hang it on. :(
Nice stuff though.
