hex die for 1 inch bolt is 1-13/16 inch .
I dont see any hex die holders that large,only set up for round ones.
I only need to thread 2 bolts so dont want to spend a fortune on a holder.

I had previous to posting
about $50 plus shipping
while it may be a great tool,its tough to swallow for 2x use.

Im not normally a fan of cheap tools but a $15 dollar one that lasts for 2 x would be great.

How about an adjustable wrench? For just a couple uses, it might work and some are available for a fairly low price.

Or chuck the die in a vise and turn the workpieces instead if that is feasible. If it is a bolt, you can just turn the bolt head and thread through the die.

We threaded a control rod once using a pair of channelocks in a pinch on a round die. It was a bit of work as the thread was really long, but it did the job.

Short of having the right tool or even an acceptable tool, what about making one if its truly a one-time use? One approach is to cut a 1-13/16 slot in some 2.5" or wider flat bar or sheet. Turn that however works best with the tools at hand (e.g. weld or bolt a bar on, cut to accept a pipe slid over, etc.)

Large Channelocks, adjustable wrench, strap wrench, spot weld a piece of rod to the side of the die and grind off when done.....seems to me like there is a million ways to do it quick and cheap for only two uses. I go through money like water and even I wouldn't buy a new tool just for this :lol:

tried calling JB tools several times
seems a little iffy
anyone deal with them before?
I dont do business with someone that doesnt have a real person on the other end.

yes it came in
what I needed to cut threads in is a 1 inch forged steel rod
not machined so it wasnt "exact".
After all this I ended up welding it on to the bracket,instead of attachment with a nut
die stock seems well made but even tho their website says made in USA,this was Chinese.
