I have come into some money and have decided to replace all my light bulbs with LED bulbs if I can get them for around $6 each. Anyone know of a source where i can get them at that pricepoint?

good luck with that price point. try superbrightleds or hero leds but don't know you'll get that low.

do some research on what you want to buy.. I saw some people complaining online about some of them creating a lot of interference

Problem I have heard about is the electronics in them don't last very long, the LED's themself will last forever though.... Might want to consider this when buying cheap ones....

Check out your local 18 wheeler chrome bumper accessory shop. They will have tons of lower cost LED bulbs and neat lighting stuff, compared to the Hot Rod & advertised magazine shops.

I heard Costco had some in that range, but I don't have a membership, but might consider getting one if I knew what the actual offerings are inside the store

we just replaced every can light in our house (like 75+) with the phillips/sylvania ones from lowes over the last couple months.

These:

everywhere downstairs/basement, as they fit perfectly flush in the 5" can rings.

These:

in all the upstairs bedrooms/hallways, as they all use 4" cans, with the exception of a few so we used the 6" versions.

With a 8 month old daughter, and my wife working 2nd shift, most of our lights stay on 18+ hours a day with an in home babysitter.

So far, they've cut the power bill by more than 60% (we have gas heat). not cheap though, was slightly over 2k for all of them i believe. But, they should pay for themselves in 2 or 3 years. Our old ones were a 30/70 mix of cfl/incan

I ended up getting 48 LED bulbs from Costco, Very happy with the brightness, and the lack of warm up time. I still have to get 12 more and then I will have replaced all of the traditional lights

Check with your power company. Ours gave us a per-bulb rebate as long as they were energy star rated. That will help offset the price. (If I remember correctly, it was $5 per bulb.)
