I've got a 2010 GMC Sierra Cred Cab 1/2 ton. Same color and everything as the one in this pic except mine is 4 x 4.

I'm looking to get a set of step bars for it and wanted to know what a good source would be. I'm not 100% set on what type I want but I'm thinking chrome with black step pad. Something like this:

I think the solid black ones would also look pretty good.

Any suggestions on a good place to source these? Opinions on style?

I also plan to get the black weathertech floormats for the front and back as we recently got a dog and I prefer to keep the inside looking the best I can. Does Weathertech ever run sales?

I have Iron Cross Automotive on my '05 Silverado. If you get the stainless steel ones, their warranted for life. A friend had a problem w/rusted out flange that holds them on truck (winter salt), and they were replaced without question. You don't find companies like that too often any more. You can find them on Ebay also.

Whatever brand you decide on, spray undercoating on all the metal under the truck to resist rust.

I have sold and installed more them 50 of these and everyone has loved them not to mention they are cheap.
There are really only two maufactures of these type steps. all that changes is the name on the black mat.
4wheel parts has alot of stores in texas so you could avoid shipping cost and just pick them up.

I'd go with the stainless. I've seen lots of painted step bars falling off because they usually rust from the inside out. Just my opinion.

Avoiding shipping costs would be a good plus. I'll check out 4Wheels Parts. I'll probably get these.

I can be at their store in probably 30 minutes. That seems to be about the best price.

I noticed on some of the reviews it mentioned they thought they could use more support. I'm assuming you haven't seen that to be the case?

Have you seen the retractable steps? I have Amp Research side steps. They are pretty nice.

Yeah, and I've also seen the price tags on those - EEK!

I have stainless on my '08 Chevy crew dually 4x4. I went with stainless and what I REALLY like is the lack of the cheap looking (in my opinion) black plastic nose cones most come with . Mine have rounded sealed ends....but I can't remember who I got them from as I write this. I'll check to see if I have receipts still.

Another vote for the Amp Research retractable steps here. I installed them on my 2006 Chevrolet 2500 Duramax and love them. With my 36" tires and 6" lift the wife couldn't get in and I don't care for the looks of steps so this was the next best option. I have really grown to like them over the last four years. I don't think I would have another truck without them.

They are a bit on the pricey side but well worth it.

Mike.

Haven't had any issues with support and as far as strength someone miss placed a tube behind a Tahoe and the Tahoe was driven over the tubes and not a scratch on the tubes.
I been selling them since 09ish and have yet to have a set returned.

Also check 4wheelparts for weather tech digital fit. Front mats should run around 100ish range and rears are around 75 dollar range. Might not be cheapest place to buy but unless you get free shipping online you will be ahead buying local.

I guess I'm one of the few that DOESN'T like his Weather Tech mats.

Mine are black and they show scuff marks from sand or grit that gets on my shoes. Then if I wash them it improves but only a product like Armorall really makes them look better, BUT it makes them so slick that if I use it your foot slips easily just trying to get into the truck or trying to shift positions while sitting.

Frankly, I like the deep rubber type floor mats you can commonly buy at an auto parts store.

I too am not a fan of Weathertech..or any of the "liner" type mats. I detail as a sideline and have never seen any of those types of mats wear well. as said above, if they're dressed...they look okay but then they're slick.

I too love the AMP powersteps. Been lusting after those for the Excursion for years...just can't justify the price. I will one day.

I bought some step bars for my parents from autoanything.com, it was a good experience. Shipped fast and pricing was good.
