Hi All,

I'm attaching Foam Board on Concrete Block to insulate my crawl space/basement. I planned on just using adhesive, but that's not working great. I found fasteners that look like they would be great to use with the adhesive, but I can't find a good source for them. The only place I've been able to locate them is through the manufacturer on Amazon. You can see them here:

Does anyone know of an alternative brand/source? I was hoping like a Zoro would have them and I could buy them on Friday. Over $100 for 250 seems pretty expensive.

Thanks,
Robert

I would recommend insulation pins and washers. You dip the pin in adhesive and press it against the concrete/block. Then you just push the insulation onto the pins, then push on the washer to hold it there. This system is used commercially to insulate concrete structures. I would think you could pick up the materials pretty cheap.

If you use a urethane caulk like Sikaflex 1A it will work much better for holding while curing. I used that loctite stuff for some of my expansion joint between the slab and block on my garage pour and it didn't hold well during the cure. I had some Sika 1A and that was like contact cement because it is much thicker out of the tube.
