Source for Quality Electrical Connectors

I am looking to make a bin of quality automotive type electrical connectors. I want small and large spade terminals, **** connectors, and some 3/4 way connectors. I am thinking non-insulated and I will heat shrink them, unless someone has a good recommendation for some that are pre-heat shrinked(or would that be shrunk, hmm)...

I do not want the autozone/HF specials that break before you get done crimping them.

I also am looking for recommendations on 2 sets of decent crimpers (insulated and non-insulated) for under about $50.

I use a set of Klein crimping pliars that will handle insulated or non-insulated connectors. Snap-On markets an almost identical pair but they cost almost twice as much. If memory serves I think the Kleins were about $20-$30, snappy was $55.


As far as connectors go, I have used some from CarQuest in the past that are OK, also ones from NAPA seem to be OK as well.

For what it's worth, I use a pair of Channel-Lock crimpers that work great and have held up for what seems like years of moderate-light electrical work. I think they were a gift from Lowe's. I believe they're around $20 or so. Definitely nothing fancy about 'em, but they haven't given me any problems.

Thomas and Betts and AMP make good ones. I have had mixed results with crimp terminals from Del City.

I have installed 1000's of audio systems and 1000's of remoter starters/alarms. I use nothing but 3M highland terminals. For crimper's I have tried them all from separate strippers and crimper's to combo pliers. My choice is Thomas & Betts TW2000.

I use the Klein 1005. I bought it at Sears for about $20??? Handles both insulated and non-insulated. I use a separate Klein stripper, also.
