Source for Schedule 40 pipe?

I am looking to make some shelving our of 3/4" schedule 40 pipe, fittings, and reclaimed wood plank.

What I'm trying to find is a wholesale shop that sell boxes of fittings and unthreaded pipe so I can cut and thread it my lengths. Places like Lowes and HomeDepot are too expensive per piece than what is found online.

However, I would like to buy it local if possible. Any recommendations on the type of commercial supply house that sell this type of material?

I live near Boulder CO.

Don't know answer but like the look. Just saw a magazine with bench made from pipe and old boards.

Call your fire sprinkler companies in the area...

When we had a building outfitted with new, they threw away all the extra pieces they had. I would have taken them and make were at least 1-5 feet long. I asked why the waste. It was easier just to cut new.

You can try out Samuel and sons in Wheat Ridge. They have pretty much any pipe fittings you could want.

Sch 40 pipe is not structural. It will not hold up to much weight...

That looks like black or galvanized pipe which would offer much more strength.

Too bad you don't live near me. I bought a trailer load of steel Tuesday from a local shop going out of business and there must be forty 10ft. joints of 3/4" Sch. 40 conduit that I'm going to sell cheap.

I think it would take forever to thread each piece of pipe. I don't think it would be a feasible project unless you already had the stuff laying around.

We were standing around BSing with our local Dominion Gas man who is one of our buddies and he was talking about using a 45 degree 3/4" black iron pipe fitting the other day and I asked him if there was such thing as a 22.5 degree fitting. He said he'd never seen one, but I'm asking here, is there such a thing? I have a use for one if there is.
