I got this set years ago, the whole toolbox was getting throw out.

It's around late 90s, early 2000s.

Missing the 9/16".

I find one on their web sight, but it not the same design. It's only large at the drive, vs large the whole socket and tapered at the end.
Plus it's almost $50!

They are ground from old toolbox etchings. Someone went crazy with a bench grinder.

I'd try the usual places where one can find old(er) tools. Garage sales, flea markets, online auctions, word of mouth, etc. Snap-On isn't going to have the exact match laying around after 20-30 years.

The way they are ground they are probably stolen, no one is going to do that to a tool except to remove an owners marking.
I wouldn't worry about matching the set, never going to have any collector value whit those grindings, lol.

Add an "A" to the end if your part number on the search. TS181A. Few on ebay now. Still pricy, but less than $50. Not exact, but another option that might get you closer

Did you even read my posts?

I explained that they had toolbox markings. They aren't stolen, they were MilSurp.

I guess I did not understand this statement, no wrong doing implied on your part.
I wish I had access to a tool box getting "thrown out"'
Several million dollar tool room, was an old toolbox with old tools.

I wish you the best of luck in your search
I know what it's like looking for that one missing piece.....

Back years and years ago in the late 70's, my dad gave me an extra set of Snap On SAE combination wrenches
His set was complete from 7/16 - 3/4 except for 9/16 which was a Proto Pro

I used the set as-is for decades.
It only mildly annoyed me that one of the wrenches was an oddball

Eventually, I had to look high and low for the missing 9/16 with the same Snappy date code.
It took a while......

Eventually found it on Craigslist
SO GLAD that I didn't have to resort to ePrey!
