I found one wedged inside a BMW overhead coil pack extension a few weeks ago, customer complained her engine didn't have any power after dealer service. No codes, no significant KR, O2 was within normal. Very odd.

For what it's worth, I like KD/Gearwrench magnetic spark plug sockets. I think I paid just under $20 for the set of three with wobbles.

Some people will spend a dollar to save a dime. How many hours of your time and ours are you willing to waste to find something cheaper...

steal the insert out of a cheap socket and use just a dab of rubber cement. works good.

I think the Snap On design is a way better design than other brands. I have several spark plug sockets in my box and I usually just grab whatever. Last week I tried to use a Craftsman and it kept loosing the insert. Finally after about half the job being done I switched it out for a SO one. Problem solved. I've NEVER lost an insert yet from a SO socket but there's plenty of time left in my career. Craftsman inserts seem to come out pretty regular though. Annoying for a guy on the job, not really a big deal for the home user.

Annoying for the home user too! I hate tools that fight with me rather than helping. I'm a big enough doofis all by myself. I need tools that will get me in the groove.
