Hello everyone,I have been a great fan of this site since it was recommended by a friend.I am considering building a new house and of course a good size garage.I am planning on being my on GC and will be attempting to pick some of your expertise on several key areas of the building process.I am hoping to divide my questions into different threads so I don't confuse myself.
1.Foundation
2.Framing
3.Plumbing
4.Materials
5.Contractors

Any suggestions where my first thread should be posted?

CARG: do you have a plan drawn yet? budget? do you own the property? have you got the permit or at least picked up the rules from the city and or county?

lots of questions to build a house or a garage or in your case both, but you'll have to live by the rules of where you live so find out what they are first. then ask all your friends and people you trust for referrals of people they would pay to have do some work for them.

you can start a thread in garage gallery and call it a new garage with a house to build in Massachusetts or some catchy name of the thread to get viewers.

good luck and post up some dimensions of your garage here and maybe one or some of us can refer you to some good threads to read. also start reading other member's threads so you can not only learn from their successes and mistakes, but you can meet a few of the members.
