Hi everyone,

I’m looking for recommendations for a space heater in my garage gym. It’s separate from the house and not insulated. But it is fairly small and shouldn’t be too hard to heat. I’m curious what others have used and recommend. Looking for something I can plug into the wall, not propane.

Thank you!!

Edit: Guys I found on this article https://truckpowerup.com/best-electric-garage-heater-120v/ new heaters 120W and thinking to buy one, maybe you can help which is better, maybe somebody have one of this. I think about Patton it's good for small size garage.

The heater choice there are dozens once you decide the on the power or fuel.

Insulate.........would you heat your home with the doors and window open ?

If you are looking for something to plug into a "normal" wall outlet you are pretty much going to be limited to a 1500 watt heater. They are all pretty much going to be the same. Either a fan type or an oil filled radiator type.

When I was on a big garage workout kick for a few years I used Kerosene (radiant and convection), Propane (radiant), and Electric (ceramic, radiator, and then radiant).

Outside of the occasional use, you really dont want to use an un-vented fuel, especially when you are working out. They put out alot of heat and work, but its on thing when you are slowly turning wrenches vs cardio/weights. You might not kill yourself, but you will get a headache.

Best thing ive found is using the radiant style of heaters that heat people and not the air. My garage is insulated and never gets below mid 40's, but i've found that slowly working out in front of the radiant heater for a few minutes, then im warmed up and ready to go.

edit -

I also have this heater. Its great and puts out alot of heat. I have been known to turn it on for a few minutes to take the chill off before just using the electric heater. But once again, i dont recommend trying to do an entire workout using un-vented heat. Good way to die or wish you were dead. YMMV.
