Space required to install indoor wall-mounted mini-splits

We have been searching for several months for a multi-zone mini-split system. I 'think' that we have finally arrived at proper sizing needed. We will be using concealed ducts AND wall-mounted Fujitsu units. My question pertains to the actual mounting of the wall-mounted units (these will be 7K and 12K BTU units). How much space is required around these wall-mounted indoor units? I have researched this question yet have not been able to find an answer.

ASU12RL2 is 32 /9/32 inches wide and 10 5/16 high. ASU7RLF1 is 33 1/16 inches wide and 10 9/16 inches high.

I have the dimensions of the units. Actually, I made two mock-ups so that my wife could see the wall 'footprint'. What I was not able to find is the mounting clearances (i.e., how much space is required around the top, sides, and bottom). I have limited space above the window where I would like to mount the 7k unit (see attached) and I, after repeated searching, cannot locate any documentation detailing the clearances required for the Fujitsu wall-mounted indoor units

My LG units recommended "more than 8 inches" of room above the unit to the ceiling and a 4" minimum of clearance from each side in the installation manual. They also have a floor to unit specification of 6.5 feet but I think that is more related to people being able to stick their fingers in the fan.

You should be able to Google your model number and "installation manual" and find that document. Here's the LG site where you can download theirs.

A cardboard mock up is an excellent idea !

Most manufacturers sell a high mount and a low mount unit. I believe the low mount has a thinner profile.

Jake,
Surprisingly, your simple approach worked perfectly!!! I have been looking for this information over the past three weeks and have been unable to get this. I googled the model number followed by 'installation manual' and BAM, there it was. I have always boasted to my wife that graduate school taught me to be an excellent researcher but I failed miserably with this one. Many thanks for your help!!!

theoldwizard1,
My wife made it clear very early on that she did not want any ugly system hanging on the wall. I made the mock ups to the proper size and we were able to easily move these boxes to various locations so that we (she) could see what it would look like. Approval was granted using this method!!! However, I was unable to find any references to recommended clearances, hence the posting of this thread, so now I can check the measurements to see if the approved locations have the available required space.
