My GF has her old car that she is giving to her neice. The car has sat for awhile and basically needs a general tune up.

It's a 96 Chevy Corsica. Anyone know the spark plug socket size for it?

I would be more suprised if 5/8 wasn't the right one. You know you can take a spark plug out with a regular deepwell socket though right?

5/8 is the right size....
It better to use a spark plug socket, to protect the plug.......

What I found out when I replaced the Champion plugs on my JD G100 lawn tractor, the Champions were 13/16ths, and the NKG replacements were 5/8".

I seem to have misplaced my 9/16" 'Wedgelock" spark plug socket.

well if you are using the 9/16 then you are working on a ford 3 valve 5.4 triton and you may encounter HELL when that stupid idea of a spark plug breaks.
also we have
14mm plug is for nissan versa
14mm 12 point is bmw or mercedes cant recall.

Ok so. I'll ask again. What about an 03 Subaru legacy and an 07 forester? I never change the spark plugs on these myself and now since I run a lot of boost spark plugs need to be changed more often. What's the size for them?

most likely 5/8, and since when do the forester and legacy have turbos?

The legacy has had a factory turbo since 04 in the states and in prior models.

The forester is in the same boat.

However both of my cars have had fully built STi motors put in them ;)

The newer legacys and foresters have a very similar version of the sti motor that was "detuned".

And 18mm for some Nissans and motorbikes.

14mm 12-point is used in BMW twin-turbo engines (IE 335i), Mini engines and some French car engines. (PSA-Peugeot, Citroen.)

Option 1, go to the auto parts store and buy the new plugs before you take the old ones out.

Option 2, use google. I typed in "1996 Chevrolet Corsica spark plug" and got the answer on the 1st page of results.

Old JD 2 cylinders use 7/8 spark plug sockets. I was thinking 9/16 was also used on Dodge slant 6's but I could be wrong. I can't remember what the size was for my old 318, haven't had to do spark plugs in 5 years.

Now, did I say that I worked on them, as I have said, Tony doesn't have to try very hard to sell me something, that may never be used. I usually talk myself into the things that I really 'need'.

For some reason, I believe I have something that uses a plug with a 9/16" hex, because I remember playing with it and the socket trying to see how it gripped the plug, and IIRC, it would only release the plug if you positioned the socket at a slight angle, (kind of like a good fitting grease gun coupler) and I didn't see how that would work in the application that I have, as the plug sets in a recess. My JD leaf blower may have it, I know my JD string trimmer doesn't, as I had to pull the plug today to get the little SOB to start, yesterday, it started on the first pull, today, it like to wore me out, after spraying ether on it, and re-installing, it went back and started on the first pull.
