What kind of spark plug tester do you recommend?
Be careful with that on "newer" cars. Long story short, the electronics don't like those kind of loads. Use a tester like mentioned above. I have many times used a plug with a piece of wire wrapped tightly around the base and the wired to ground on the car. A hillbilly version of the one mentioned above with the test clip.kartracer55 said:You can also get away with sticking a philips screwdriver into the boot and holding the HANDLE and keeping it about a 16th or so away from a ground point and having somebody crank the engine if you really wanted. I do this alot.

I had a lisle version of that, but I could never see the spark. Wonder what I was doing wrong????Canadian Charlie said:I have a Blue Point spark tester, it looks like a pen that you press against a plug wire and you can see the spark inside the plastic cover
I also have what looks like a spark plug with a roach clip attached to it
You have to be in a dimly lit room; light is very dim ...eschoendorff said:I had a lisle version of that, but I could never see the spark. Wonder what I was doing wrong????

Maybe you weren't using the roach clip properly.eschoendorff said:I had a lisle version of that, but I could never see the spark. Wonder what I was doing wrong????
