Hello, I'm just a young weekend wrencher that loves tools. My rollaway is full of basic tools and some specialty tools but I was curious if anyone had some specialty tools that they swear by. (sorry if my specialty tools aren't a specialty)

My specialty tool list consists of:
Hub pullers
Disc pad spreader
Axle socket set
Mapp gas torch
Strut and coil compressors
Hydraulic crimpers
Vises
Handheld pressure clamp pliers (for radiator hoses etc)
Front service set (ball joints, pitman arms, tie rods)
Ball joint press
Battery Tester (Solar BA9 -love it!)

Next on my list:
Noid lite set for fuel injectors
XZY set (triple square)

Anything helps as i am just trying to expand my never ending tool set. I work on both domestic and imports (no fancy or exotic cars)

These days I'm a weekend warrior, but I've been a pro on and off. I have a pretty solid quantity of basic tools and specialty ones kicking around. Based on your list I'll throw in whatever I feel doesn't fit under the "basic tools" category :)

Cam bearing install/removal tools
Valve spring compressors
Piston ring filer
Piston ring compressors
20 Ton Hydraulic shop press
~3 mapp torches
OA torch kit / tanks
Coil spring compressors
Power bleeder for GM Trucks
Carb Sticks
Connecting rod vise
Connecting Rod Balancer
Push Rod Straightness Checker
Blind hole bearing puller
Various slide hammers
Hand Bearing Packer
Plastic Welding kit
Motorcycle Chain Alignment Tool
Motorcycle Chain Press & Chain Breakers
Float Level Gauge
66pc Tap and Die set (1 each, US and Metric)

What I don't have but want:
SnapOn MODIS handheld scanner.

Probably a few others I forgot, but those are the ones that have seen some recent use, so those are what I remember lol. I'll work on pretty much anything that can be taken apart lol

Lisle spill free funnel if you don't have one already. I got mine from summit through ebay for about half what the trucks charge
Drum brake pliers from snap on
Long hose pliers if that's not what you listed already

It depends on what you work on but, a pair of cable operated hose clamp pliers come in handy for late model cars with flat band hose clamps.

Lisle makes a universal noid light with a remote cable that is easier to use alone than a set of noid lights.

The two I swear by are my 3/8s battery impact and my ball joint press. The gun is damn useful and the press pays for itself in nothing flat. I rebuild a lot of front ends though.
