Laid some cheap Lowes porcelain tile down on my main workbench over the weekend....cheapest stuff they had in a straight bright white color. This was the 1st tiling job I've ever done, and just wanted something that was bright and wouldn't allow dirt/grease/oil/metal chips, etc to embed into the bench.

Tiles - Emser Snow White 12x24 porcelain floor & wall tile, PEI 4
Mortar - Mapei Large Format Floor Tile gray powder Thinset/Medium bed mortar
Grout - Mapei Keracolor S white sanded grout, 1/8" grout spacing.
Sealer - Tilelab grout sealer (this came from Home Depot, forgot to buy it with the rest of the stuff.

Laid the tile down Saturday, grout last night. Waiting for everything to fully dry for a couple days, and wondering if there's a specific grout sealer I should be using now for workbench/garage use, or if the random bottle I grabbed off the shelf is going to be OK? Not so much concerned with staining as I am with things like oil, carb/brake cleaner, etc getting on it and eating away at the grout/tile.

None of those things is likely to eat away a sanded grout or porcelain tile, but they'll all stain it. Can't offer much personal advice on sealer; there are plenty of claimed comparisons available via Google search but it seems like every sealer on the market has at least one comparison test that claims it was the best of the bunch.

If you're real concerned about staining then you would have been better off with epoxy grout. No sealing - it's great ****. I did my bathroom in it and I'll never use regular grout again in my house.
You already did it though and it's a workbench so I wouldn't worry too much about it. The white grout will look like **** soon enough, lol. Shoulda went with a DARK grout.

I don't get it. Why tile on a workbench? Most anything you do will break the tiles.
