Ahoy folks!

Got a 2nd hand Speedair 20 gal compressor lined up. I've done a search on here and couldn't find too much info on them

It appears to be an older model and am wondering if it is worth buying? Are parts still available for them?

Speedaire is a Grainger's house brand. I think most were Champion. I have a 5hp 3ph 60 gal, probably from the 70s. When I checked, all parts were available through Grainger, but I've never needed any. Good machine.

Probably won't need anything specific to Speedaire......bought this NOS head (Speedaire) and adapted it to mine about 25 years ago. Running OK since.

Have the parts list and instructions for it, if you need a copy.

We have a big Speedaire here at work (forget the exact size, but it's over 120 gallons) and it runs without any problems. For a while it was running on a roughly 30% duty cycle and never a hiccup.

I am in the process of rebuilding a compressor that belonged to my grand father. When I got it 10 years ago I swapped the pump and motor for one that worked. The compressor is a Speedair 2Z157 but so far my experience with Grainger has been anything but friendly or helpful.

IN case anyone in Florida need one - a friend has a 10HP, 3Phase Speedaire - looks to be direct drive and tank larger than 120 gal. This thing is huge.. was purchased new by Florida Power and used for a short time. $1000.00 takes it home.. but you better bring a large flat bed to carry it.
FWIW,

How much? Just about anything is worth buying if it's cheap enough. :)

I recently gave away one of those 20 gal. Speedaires. Good little compressor for filling tires, etc. but that about it. The one I got rid of had a pinhole in the tank.

No comment on repairing the tank.
