Can anyone identify this? Motor work fine, pump was seized due to a cracked connecting rod. Got the housing welded up, just need a new rod now!

I'd be concerned with weak spots in the tank. If you're gonna use it much you might get a new tank for it somewhere. Not sure about the conn rod, but if you take measurements maybe a more modern one would fit.

Look around, I've seen those Speedaires with a dual cyl. compressor head for less than $100. They are pretty common.

I bought a Speedaire 3hp with twin piston from the Grainger warehouse for $40. It was a customer return with a cracked motor mount, yet was otherwise brand new. I sandwiched a new plate to the cracked one, and it's been in my garage now for about 15 years. If it died I would look for another used compressor and not spend any time fixing internal parts.

I got this one from a place that sold and repaired compressors. A customer had brought it in to have the front wheels relaced and then never returned to pick it up, and couldn't be contacted. It sat for almost a year before they sold it. $150. It's the best compressor I've ever owned.

I’m not really sure what happened to this one, it’s was given to me. I took it home, welded the casing up, then noticed the cracked rod when I started re assemble it. Might just turn the tank into a smoke box lol

I had this 2stage 80 gallon at my shop for at least 6 years with no issues. It kept up with 2 guys running polishers opened up for a good chunk of the day. One of the better ones I’ve owned. We got it cheap too, and this screenshot tells me there are still deals out there for them. 3 phase hookup. A solid unit.

Now that I’m looking at them again, I’m certain ours was a 10 hp with 120 gallon cap or more. Like this. It’s been a few years. I remember going to look at it and being skeptical because of the low price, but the thing was covered up in a corner of a huge warehouse and it was dusty but not a drop of oil anywhere on it. It had hardly been used and cleaned up like new. I couldn’t pay the guy his asking price fast enough. Wish I still had it, but don’t have the need anymore. Let me check and see if we still have the manual around here somewhere. Perhaps there could be info useful to you i there.

Here is mine I got a long time ago. It knocks, rattles and leaks some but it still compresses air every day.
