I just picked up an older Speedaire 2Z499B at a garage sale. It needs the oil changed but do not what the oil capacity is for this model.

It was full to the bottom of the filler plug which looks to me once I drained it to be about 20-24 ozs, give or take an ounce or two. It seemed to me that it had too much oil in it but as stated, don't know. I know that the new Speedaires that are 2 HP, 2 cyl. single stage only require 8.5 ozs. of oil!?

Also, can anyone tell me the rated HP and CFM output of this compressor ?

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

Respectfully::dunno:

Long time lurker but first post on GJ. Very appreciative of all the information I have gleaned over the years. I'm usually on the car forums but hoping to contribute more here too. Sorry to rehash a dead thread...

I bought an old Speedaire 3Z355H with a 2Z499C pump. It's in great shape and well maintained. Wanted to change the oil but couldn't find any info on the oil capacity. I contacted Grainger USA and they pulled the manual. I can confirm the MAX oil level is to the bottom of the fill hole threads (@lilredex is correct). BTW...they confirmed this applies to ALL 2Z499 pumps (A, B, C, etc. series). They e-mailed me the original manual too! Great service on a compressor that is 34 years old! In my compressor this was about 550ml (18.5oz). Hoping this information might help the next guy like me who struggled to find the info.
