SpeedAire Pump ID.

The name plate is gone my pump. How do I determine what model it is?

3Z323, 3Z355, or 3Z395 is the model for SpeedAire and the pump determines which model I have.

3Z323 has a 1 HP single phase motor

3Z395 has a 1.5 HP single phase motor

I can't find anything on the 3Z355 unit.

It appears that all three used the 2Z499 pump, a single stage, two cylinder pump with a 2.75" bore. These pumps were used on a lot of lower-end compressors, including Sears and others.

They were built to last though, most are ancient and last far longer than a HD or Lowes special.

Most of those older small pumps were made by either DeVilbiss or Campbell Hausfeld. I think C-H still makes pumps although they're ridiculously expensive for their size, but DeVilbiss hasn't made a pump in ages.

C-H helped me ID the compressor itself as there was no model ID on it either. Been a great compressor so far. A builder had it in his garage and retired and was selling his equipment. Got it for a $125. It looks almost brand new except the identification of the pump and overall model.

I’ve got the “manual” but not much help. If I have the 3Z323D model my operating pressure will need to be reviewed and is limiting.
