Speedmaster USA socket set. Who made this?

When I first saw this set at a sale I was going to pass it by but I stopped and picked up the wrench and felt a very high quality tool. I have never come across this name before and am happy I grabbed this small set for $3 even though it is missing a few sockets. Everything is marked Speedmaster and this small socket wrench is now one of my favorites. I am no expert but I don't think this is a cheap off brand but I have been wrong before, the quality and the feel of the wrench is so nice. Any ideas as who made this wrench?
Thanks.

Really nice find Marty. That set was made by Wright.
Guys around here refer to that as a "Frankenstein" style ratchet because of the button on the side of the head.

There are Wright branded versions of that ratchet out there as well.

A very nice set and a good price, if you notice the 8pt sockets in the set it was not uncommon back in the day to find things with square nuts; Today not so much but back then more common.:rocker:

Sorry, the 1/4"er on the right is not marked in any way. After posting another one years ago and asking who made it, the consensus was Wright tools.

As far as the SK frankie, it's stamped S-K. Don't know if Wright licensed it to S-K. The drive mechanisms are fairly close in operation though not design.

I'd love to see the above Speedmaster rat taken apart to examine it's innards!

Bonneyman, here it is apart, I have no idea how to get the button lever out as is seems it is meant to stay put. It looks like a simple very good design and is a bit different than your SK. Sorry for the crappy indoor pictures.

Thanks for those pics, Marty. That thing looks like a brute!

According to the my ratchet thread, the SK has a 32 tooth gear.

Well funny thing but that day came Today...I went to a tag sale and this little beauty was laying on the table without a price tag so I took it to the nice lady and she said "How about $1.00 dollar" and I said "Sold".:rocker:
