how exactly does this work?? i think it is a very cool idea. wouldn't you end up with like a 8" wide by 2.5' (+/-) long piece?? would you lie them next ot each other???

rubber stall mats from your local livestock supply store are economical and super-thick (about 3/4").

I would imagine they work good, too. Anything is softer on the feet than concrete... I also have a few thin mats that are used under large paper rolls when being transported... they HELP keep the rolls from moving... although 6,000 lb. rolls have a mind of their own!
