I just got a new laptop running Vista and now when I make a spelling error while posting there is no longer a red line under the miss spelled text as there was when I ran XP. Is this feature able to be turned on and off? If so how do I fix this?

dxdexter, when you're online, the spell check is provided by your browser - when you're offline writing an email, the spell check is provided by your OS. Just download the latest Firefox applicable to your OS and all will be well. :)

PS. The spell check says it's alright to spell online as one word but offline gets a red underline. :dunno:

Thanks guys. I now have Firefox 3.0.7 and in the options the box "check spelling as I type" is checked, but I still have no spell check. I'm at a loss now.:headscrat

Now I have to Google a word I'm unsure of prior to posting. :(

It doesn't work in Internet Explorer either.

EDIT: After a search on the Mozilla site; I finally got it to work with Firefox. I had to bring up a window as if I was going to post to the board and then right click > Languages > Add Dictionaries > and then select the appropriate language. I choose "English (Canadian)". So now I can spell words such as vapour, centre, and metre with no underline :)

You don't know how much you miss spell check until its gone.
