I can't say for sure. But the internationals at princess auto have metal filings in the drawers from people opening them and thats with empty drawers.

I have a 13 drawer, 40" SPG International box....it is a Craftsman Pro box. It is definitely better than the ones Sears sells the past few years, I bought mine 5 years ago. It is a very well built box...the only dislike I have with it is the fact that the full width top drawer only has one set of ball bearing slides....two would have gave it a better feel.

It is perfect for me,a DIY'er, but it would not be suitable in a professional environment.

SPG International makes the Craftsman boxes for Sears. The Craftsman Professional line is a rebadged SPG International Pro line. I have SPG's super heavy duty line and have no complaints other than I should have bought their biggest roll cab instead the small one I currently have.

Ditto to the comments made earlier about the Princess Auto SPG boxes there. They are complete garbage and don't do the company justice.

I'm a heavy-equipement mechanic (almost an apprentice, been working in that line since two years) and I have an International SPG toolbox...

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=852589&postcount=3157

It was a good starter box but I will change it for a Snap On soon, the International will be a great home tool box (I have the 42" 11 drawer mode)

Why do I want to change ?

Pros of the International :
- Low cost
- Good bearing slides
- Strong (for it's price)

Cons of the Inter...
- The drawers dont open completely, which makes it difficult to get stuff at the back of the drawer.
- The drawers are locked close by a detent mechanism, not a lock... you have to yank them open and close them the same way (moving all the unattached tools to the back).
- The finish (mine is black) is not easy to clean (I like my toolbox shiny).
- Small wheels with cheap bearing (not easy to move).

Anyway, It is now too small... I cant believe how many tool you have to get in your first years... (I use the rule of three : If I have to borrow a tool three times... I should purchase one).

I have one of their 75" roll cabinets that was sold under the NAPA Pro line. Bought it used off Kijiji and was very happy with the condition and price.
For a home box it is fine and I will most likely not wear it out.
It would be too light for shop box for everyday use.
I plan on taking the casters off of mine and mounting it under the work surface.

I bought my VRB5610 from a tech. He had it 10 months. He upgraded to a Montezuma. The Montezuma was definitely a beefier box, the International detents were worn out.

That is their value series box. The better (pricier) boxes I hear are better as far as wear goes. For a home box IMO it's a great tool box though. For a full time tech? No.

I have one and love it. That is a great price. I don't think it would last in an auto repair shop but for my home, it is great.

Do a search for International boxes. You will find an interesting one from FX Dawg about that same box. His reveiw is near then end....its mainly about his problems with sears. I have a 42 and its a great DIY'er box. Like Pipster said, great for home but not for Pro. I love mine but they are thin, but no more then a Craftsman.

Don't expect it to be amazing. At only 355 pounds that awfully light for a 56x24 box.

It doesn't even weigh that much, 355 lbs is the SHIPPING weight.

OP- In this price range, I'd either look hard for a quality used box or buy the 56" Harbor Freight box. If you go by shipping weights the HF box is 180 lbs heavier and the reviews I've seen are good. If International makes the Craftsman boxes, I'd go with HF any day unless it's the professional line.

What he said. ^^^^^ For your applicationI would strongly recommend the HF 56" roller. I received mine last week and I think it is the best value for a box of its size and category, especially with a $699 coupon (not sure if one is out there currently).

Based on other threads, international makes the c-man boxes in Canada and I think the newest c-mans in the U.S. But the extremely crappy c-mans were made by Waterloo.

+2 for the crappy box made by Waterloo. That is very commenly known. International is making the newer style Craftsman boxs with the thick door.

I was also looking at this box for my home, just wondering how may slides per drawer, does it have 4 slides for the largest drawer and bottoms ones?

thanks

That would be nice if I lived in the US, I wouldnt mind it but the top drawer on the cabinet is split in 2 pieces, would be nice if it were 1 entire drawer

It seems everything here is limited and if you want something nice you gotta spend the big bucks.

Mine has 2 slides for the top drawer and 2 on the large bottom drawer. All the other drawers are 1 slide.
