Spiders covering cctv cameras

I have six outdoor cctv bullet style cameras that almost every week spiders are webbing up the lens on the cameras. The garage is two story high so how are they getting up there especially when there are no trees in the back
Spray spider killer has little effect especially that this month in northern Nj is so many rain storms. The up a ladder weekly is not a good Choice
Is there a gel or pesticide to put around the cameras to get rid of the spiders
Thanks

They're obviously up to no good and in cahoots with the local outlaws setting you up for a rip. There is only one solution for the dastardly basturds.....

I don't know how to help, but from what I've heard, I know what won't help.

You said you sprayed and were wondering about a gel or something. Forget it.
Spiders don't absorb through their feet so it won't work. They need a direct hit.

Do these cams have infrared LEDs?

I'm curious why you're asking? are bugs attracted to IR?

I recently put up a ring camera that has them, but I think they only turn on when I'm actively watching the camera. I opened the live view to see a raccoon who looked right at the camera and got out of there in a hurry. The audio was not on, it made me wonder if the IR lights bugged him.

Yes, they are there specifically because of the IR.

The solution is unfortunately to disable the on-board infrareds and use a separate illuminator.

Otherwise you'll be cleaning them once and a while. I spray mine with Spider Away occasionally and it seems to help.

I haven't heard of the IR thing before. Are you all talking about warmth?

I always thought they set up shop in places where they could get food? Maybe a structure better for making webs and catching bugs nearby would entice them to pack up?

Maybe the illuminator of these cameras is at a wavelength that attracts some bugs - like any other light?

Spiders like the vandal resistant dome IR best.
Switching to the matrix cameras (IR next to lens) helps some, but in no way prevents it.

Turning off the IR will stop them.
Otherwise, unless you like climbing a ladder, make yourself a long pole...
