A Few years ago here on the Journal I read a post about United Metal Spinning in Kansas City, MO the OLDEST Metal Spinner in the US, they spin metal "Things" Well flash forward and I got a request for an item that I just don't make.. a "Pan" or "Dish" for a Brazilian Steakhouse, they carry their meat spit in it tip down and it catches the grease.. they had been using some HDPE paddles that were routed out to be a smidge deeper (about half an inch?) and they wanted something metal... well we went around and around about it, Mill something Turn Something etc etc etc... I just don't have the time then it clicked... United Metal Spinning, so I have subbed out the dish to them... Price is right, very nice people, very good work. Spinning a 6" diameter, 1 1/2" deep dish from 3/16 Alu plate...
So the 3D CAD model in Fusion 360

and the Raw Spun Dish, I had to make the handle and TIG it on and make the "Divot" for the center and TIG that in place... no pics of that yet. prototype is off to the client, United spun this up in less than 3 minutes, not including time to turn the form...

I've seem live demo's of metal spinning using pewter and/or aluminum sheet cut as discs to start. Pretty neat stuff.
