splicing vs running new wire

So I'm going to be re-arranging my hanging electrical heaters (2 5000 watt units) in the detached garage, and wondering what the best way to go about it is.

Option 1) I have a few different lengths of 10/2 wire that I could splice together, using wire nuts and junction boxes, to get the wire to length to reach the new heater locations. This will be above my currently open garage ceiling. I think my only limitation here is that the junction boxes need to be accessible, so when I do finish off the ceiling the boxes needs to be right there at the ceiling drywall, with a dummy plate on top. There will need to be two splices.

Option 2) Just spend the money and buy the length of 10/2 that I need, and not use the smaller lengths at all. I don't want to run into an issue down the road because I wanted to save $50. It seems safer to not have any splices, but maybe I'm worried about nothing.

Curious what people's thoughts are.

If you can pull the existing box loose, relocate it to the attic and run one chunk of wire from there to the new location, or run from where it is now to the new place(s), go for it. It it's going to involve multiple splices t get where you are going, just run new wire.

Thanks. The garage is unfinished, so everything is easy to get at right now. If it's safer/smarter to run new wire that's fine. This box will eventually have insulation on top of it if it's up in the garage attic, and not easily accessible once the ceiling is finished off.

I ended up running into an issue where I had to make a splice for a 20-amp/12-gauge circuit. It was a home run with finished walls around the service panel, so I just opted to put a junction box up in my attic to fix it. It bothered me for years, but it never failed.

This past spring I decided to fix it - no real reason, it just wasn't "right" to me. Ended up costing me around $100 in wire (due to the high price of copper) to fix it, along with quite a few hours of my time.

Was it worth it? From a functionality standpoint, no. But it doesn't bother me anymore, so I guess I at least know how much that costs now.

If it was me, I'd run a new length of wire, but I'm not the smartest guy sometimes.
