so, im in need of new torque wrenches cuz i need to clear out the monthly budget or else i lose it for that month and prefer split beam over click type but need it for left hand threaded bolts as well..

do the split beams that have ratcheting heads have the ability to torque counter clockwise? or is the ratchet mechanism just for convenience?

IIRC the PI split beams are not reversible

i know not a split beam but the HF torque wrenches will do left hand thread... but the accuracy is lower in reverse... so it depends on how critical the accuracy is... lug nuts will be fine, internal engine parts probably not so much

You realize they are the same torque wrench, just a couple decades apart in age? And the spec's haven't changed.
