Anybody have any info on these units. I'm in the process of insulating a putting up walls and a ceiling in my 24x24 garage. I was going to do a thru wall AC and an Element type heaters in it. Then I ran into this and it looks like it'll will handle both jobs for less than $1k.

Split System heat pumps are great solutions for many applications. Not familiar with this brand. Manufacturers that have been around a while include Mitsubishi, Sanyo, Frederich. Carrier, etc.
Look for pre-charged refrigerant lines unless you are licensed to handle refrigerants and have the equipment. Note that there are limitations in both distance and elevation for the separated units. Outdoor unit has space requirements. Don't bury it behind the bushes.
Confirm available electrical and locate the outfall for the condensate line. Remember that heat pumps efficiency drop greatly below 40 degrees.
Eliminate outside air infiltration at exterior door.
Have fun.

A friend installed a Sanyo version of these in his house. This is the first Winter so the data is still coming in, but so far he is happy. He was still getting a 45 degree differential from outside at 20 degrees when he switched over to his boiler. So far it has been significantly cheaper to run than his LP boiler. Did a nice job of cooling last summer, was almost silent and he didn't notice much change at all in his electric bill. He does have a very well insulated house.

REDSKY -I found a better one that has a Toshiba Compressor and a Backup heating element for those really cold days! It does come with all the lines and the system is precharged. I have alread placed a pad behind the garage free of any obstructions or bushes. And I have a 150amp service in the detached garage with plenty of space left in it! The indoor unit will be placed on the wall diretly above the outdoor unit so it'll be a short run! Thanks for all your help!

Here is another that I am looking at as I have to heat/cool the bonus room also. These are used in our living facilities in Iraq. Very quiet and cooled the room even in 130 degree temps. My only concern is the placement and how to heat a bathroom upstairs.

Thats a nice unit are you splitting them off to separate rooms or just one room?

I only have a 24x24x10 garage so need that large of a unit! Wish I had a garage large enought to use it though!! :)

I just installed 2 of the split system units. After careful selection I bought mine from Amcor Aire. They offer the new high seer inverter systems as well. They are efficient, quite, affordable, easy to install, and the best warranty I could find.
They look pretty good hung on the wall! I found a better unit with has a higher SEER than the 1st one and also has a Backup heat element! Which will help on less 35 degree days we get around gere! We get in the 90's with humidity here in MD how good is the Ac on yours and also the heat are yoi happy with it?
