Going out of business sales plus "fixtures for sale".

I didn't check it out but there may be some decent racks/shelving to score

Way "too early" for any good deals....... Went to my local SA on Thursday and found you can do better at Dicks Sporting Goods regular/sale prices. Most items at SA were only 15-20% off.
I suggest waiting a few weeks for some deeper discounts.

I stopped by Soorts Chalet the other day, no wonder they went outta business. Crazy prices even st 30% off. I'd imagine SA will be the same.

The pricing structure was changed for their "going out of business" Looked at a tent a few days ago, it was on sale for $99. Went back after they started the "GOB" sale and the smoking fire clearance sale price was $139. I asked the clerk "why is this more expensive than last week after starting the going out of business sale?" her response, "we've been marking up everything for the last two days."

So, it is basically just like every other going out of business sale, jack up prices, then do a % off and public goes nuts.

There was an article I read that very few things at initial 30% are cheaper than Dicks, Amazon, etc. Even at 40-50% if you wouldnt pay sales tax at Amazon. I doubt I will even bother, because once it goes beyond 50% all the good stuff will be gone by suckers that overpaid.

Yeah. I especially get a kick out of pricing when they are only closing certain stores. When some local Kmart stores closed, people were sacrificing a return window, in order to pay more than they would at the other Kmarts that weren't closing. In the final days, you got a whopping 40% off of items that needed repair, or need to be thrown in the garbage. All sales final. There are some hidden gems to be found at these sales, but I wonder if it's worth wading rough all the ****

My local store is already closed. Started marking stuff down a couple months ago.

Yep. When they first announced it, they closed the one near me and moved the merchandise to another location so the liquidators could jack up the prices and offer a discount.

A few of them have already started to be remodeled for other stores.

Which store is replacing the Sports Authority in your area?

A Michaels, an arts/crafts store.

I don't get how these crafts stores stay in business. Not only that, but they're popping up everywhere. Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc.

I would have thought the demise of the Ben Frankilns crafts stores would have set an example, but I guess not.
