Sportsman's garage makeover

[Throbbin Rods]

Looking to see what others do for organization in the garage when there are 8 dozen duck and goose decoys, 50 fishing rods, 8 outboards, a dirt bike, 2 ATV's and a project CJ5. My SO is very wood handy and is building me a rack for the rods, and Other than that I am looking for ideas for my summer makeover of the garage. End goal is space to work on the CJ and 8-10 project boats a year that come in and out. Garage is 28' x 28' with 11' 8" ceilings. Tool box stack is 54" wide. I am looking to add wall storage and build a new bench, but space is at a premium right now. Second story is wide open, 8' at the peak, prob 18-20 ' wide with stand up clearance. Decoys can't be upstairs due to heat in the summer wrecking the plastic ones. I am embarrassed to put pics of the garage up in it's current rathole mess. Also, looking to get rid of 220V Air Conditioner, cheap cheap. BTW, I already know the answer is to build a bigger garage and being on disability that just ain't in the budget

Don't be afraid to post pics of your garage, we are not going to judge you. If some one does who cares they are not a friend. Pics would help a lot. If we can see what you have to work with it will be easier to make suggestions.

Store the dekes in the new duckboat!

Any chance you can just buy an inexpensive little storage shed for the dekes?

You could do something simple like this to store/display your dekes:

I bag my decoys. Each bag holds around 2-3 dozen. I set them on a shelf but you could easily hang the bags on hooks.
Fishing rods store nice and safe along the ceiling. You ceiling is pretty high, maybe build some fold down racks.

Not much happening, just had a joint replaced at the base of my right thumb. 4 more weeks in a cast, then pt. Garage clean out is on hold
Nice boat and decoy shelves. New plan is to build a decoy shed
