Do I need a special fixture for a spot light over a garage door?
Or could I possibly just extend a 6"-8" wide board out, and possibly just mount a porcelain fixture to a metal box, and install like that.
or do I need some type of outdoor fixture?
I need to do it on the cheap, cause I may not be staying here for ever.

Or.....do like I've done before....drop light....
LOL
I thought of that, one of those big metal cone looking clamp on lights.
How about this , only about $8.00 shipped.

Put a couple of LED PAR lamps in it.....and you will be good to go.

When you move, take it all with you.

If you get a cast surface mount round box that mates to that cover, the box will usually have mounting ears.

Readily available at any Big Box.

Meaning you can put it all together basically on the bench, screw on wall, and later easily remove intact. Marc
