Looking for a little advice on any specific spot cutter brands which work well, meaning I want one that won't go dull the first time I use it. I've never used one before but I assume there are differing qualities between the discount ones and the brand name kits. I see there are also a few differing style of cutters. Does one work better than another? I'm not looking to break the bank with this purchase but I'd like to get something that won't piss me off when I go to use it.
Thanks for the help.

I think I paid about $10 for one. They work great IMO.

I just grind an old drill bit, center drill or endmill flat with a small point in the middle.

+1 on the Blair Rotabroach, adequately lubricated. Use a small drill bit to allow the center guide to ride. Plus the tool is modular since the cutting head is threaded on, so swapping tips is easy. Blair also offers various other tips that use the same setup. I really like mine and have used it on almost every panel of a 72 charger.
