those are cheap and guaranteed to break, especially since the spot weld hardens the metal
spend $20 and get a real one.

Depends on the location and what piece I am keeping.
I either use a cut off wheel, a die grinder, a drill bit or a Blair rotobroach spot weld cutter ( these things are the shiznet )

I've got the Blair cutters and i also have a couple of Harbor Freight cutters. I have used the H/F ones more and they have cut a lot of spot welds... Good buy for the money in my book.

Depending on what it is and what I want to save as well as how I am planning to put it back together...
I use a spot weld cutter, like you showed
Or I use a die grinder with a 3/8th solid carbide ball on it. Run it around on the spot weld till the area around the spot weld shows a little blue ring and it's ready to break the remaining metal around the weld

these are available in different sizes but the 5/16 works for most newer spotwelds.
I also use the old black and decker titanuim coated bullet bits for larger ones shown here are the 3/8 and 1/2 inch. Of course no good shop is complete without a couple good spot welders to put it all back together.
