I gotta say- y'all have stirred up our FB page like nobody's business!

Since I can't buy everybody their favorite malted soda for having such a tremendous impact on our social media efforts, I can offer the Garage Journal folks a 15% discount (pls don't tell the 'other guys'...) since the Costco window of 'Valentine Day Love' sale expired. They still carry the product (we just had a mega-order today from Costco Canada!) but I'll let those tuned in here enjoy a few extra simoleans to spend on their own favorite soda  or a new chrome bolt-on accessory for the garage queen.

Use promo code mancave to receive your discount on checkout from our website.

Keep on truckin'-

Am I the only one who doesn't have a problem with using tap water? Maybe it's the BC water? I just wash and chamois it.

Y'all got some of the softest water in the states. Our customers there love our systems 'cuz the filters last a loooooooong time and they can ditch the chamois!

Howdy Gang-

Wanted to give y'all a link to one of our systems in use...might be worth a click...

Along those lines, if you grab one of our systems and shoot a video of your system in use, I'll send you a free cartridge refill...and if it's the best video we've seen come June 1st, you get a free system! (if you buy one from us and win, we'll either give you a free system or refund your purchase price...how sweet is that?).

On my own garage build journey...this forum is simply amazing. Great ideas. Great members.

Gotta throw this out there, guys. We've been doing this a long time and during the initial stages of development over a decade age, we worked tirelessly with the resin manufacturer to create the 'best national option' for the ion ratios that deliver the product performance we demand. I've taken calls from folks who were sold 'nuclear grade' resin but it would not take the water to 000tds nor would it last as long. The worst thing you can do is let water you expect to be 'spotless' dry on your sled and it turns out its not spotless....don't ask me how I know!

Cheers!

Howdy Gang-

Been busy getting my own garage buildout complete...see attached. Got a ton of great tips from y'all- appreciate all the shared knowledge.

Also aboard to let you know we've launched a new line of spotless water units called 'Simple Chuck'. It's available on Kickstarter thru end of Feb for a smokin' deal and we're also recycling the filters for both our legacy systems as well as Simple Chuck's Double Chuck. Lowers cost of refills dramatically!

Check out the new goods at www.simplechuck.com

Cheers!

Good to hear you guys are recycling the resin. I ordered a DI-120 on Thursday and will be glad to send it back for recycling and hopefully get a cheaper price on resin refills.

May end up purchasing a Simple Chuck for a family member if the DI-120 works out well for me.

Yessir- we're dropping the price substantially thus saving both yours and Ma' Nature's Green. Those DI-120 refills will go from $60 (for a pre-filled cartridge) to $49 and if you use > 2 refills/yr, join the Power Users Club for $49 and get 'em for only $25...plus no shipping costs. You just need to send us the expired cartridges (return 'em in the boxes we sent the fresh one's in...return labels included) for recycling so we can keep the recycling loop alive!

This effort will save 75 tons of plastic from the landfill for each 10k users/resin change. We're pretty happy about that!

I have been using the CR Spotless DIC-20 system for at least 8 years. I have very hard water. I tried a couple other filter/softener type systems and nothing works as well. Turned a buddy onto it last year when he was still getting spots with the softened water out of his softener system. As mentioned, the key is to use a pressure washer to keep the gpm under what they recommend. I have alway used Costco for my refills. Glad to hear about the recycle program as I have always hatted tossing the old resin.

I'm a fan of the performance of CR Spotless, but I have to say the customer service wasn't very good in my experience. Putting mine together, the PVC fitting on the unit broke. I tried 2x to get customer service to send me a new one, but they wouldn't even send me an email, automated or otherwise.

You guys know you can "recharge" the resin?

I looked at buying the CR Spotless rinse setup until I realized that it was just 1 or 2 whole house filters and DI resin that cost $200+ so I just built one fore less that $60.

I used 2 whole house filters off Amazon that were "open package" I connected them together with a short piece of PVC that I use as a handle. I bought 2 empty DI canisters and DI resin from a reef supply store and it was done. Already had a short piece of hose and a nozzle that sprays a fine mist.

I also bought a water tester because I didn't want to ruin my paint without testing it first. I have used it a couple times and I just tested the water out of it to see if I need to change the DI and it came out to 1ppm. The water out of my tap is over 250 (no water softener) and the water that we use for the water cooler came out at 14ppm.

Also- not sure what CR charges for resin but it might be cheaper to buy from a reef supply store instead of them.

The Mr. Clean Auto Dry system worked great. I will never understand why they stopped making it. A customer service rep told me it was not because it wasn't selling welll...
