Seems kinda high to me, but you are in NY. How tall is the structure because that is going to make a difference on installation time? Is this continuous gutter or pieces?

Never mind, I see the big barn in your link. Yeah thats a tall one, going to be a PITA to install on that which is probably the reason for the higher estimate. still sounds a bit high considering I got 72' of standard 4" residential continuous gutter and spouting installed for under $200

You can't really compare half-round gutters to seamless aluminum, but if I was doing it with oversize 6" k-style (square) seamless aluminum, 4 two-story downspouts, and screws instead of nails, I would be at $2584 installed. With license, insuarance, and warranty.

When I read the title: "spouting costs?"

The first thing that came to mind was nothing or a lot! It just depends on what comes out of your mouth!!!

Agree with others- you'll never know for sure where you stand with one quote. Get several quotes, and consider alternative materials. Up-front costs versus long term maintenance/use costs.

I agree about comparing half round to seamless but my installers were licensed, insured, bonded and have a lifetime warranty. They even had to buy special 2" long self tapping screws to screw into the steel beams that are over 1/8" thick. It wasn't a very easy job to get the brackets screwed in either. The extra length on the downspouts is what, $50 in materials. I also know that I'm sure NY prices are higher than SC prices but those seem very high to me.

Half round is not nearly in the same class of gutter as k style. If you only knew the cost of a half round machine...

Don't skimp on downspouts. That will be a BOATLOAD of water coming down during a heavy rain. I'd stay with 6" bare minimum (or BIGGER) and you may consider having 3 downspouts per side.

Any plans to re-cycle any of that water?? Route it to storage tank for free watering of garden, etc??

With gutters on such a TALL barn, who is going to clean those gutters?? (another good reason to have GIANT downspouts so everything just flushes through)

rain barrel for sure. with a timer possibly for watering a garden while we are away. 6 inch downspout is a good idea.

wow crazy pricing. my barn is 48 long by 10 high, i went with 6 inch seamless with 1 down spout each side and the cost was 300.00

what makes half round worth the extra expense?
