I built my own home this past year with family and friends help so my shop was a construction zone. Now that we're in the home and I'm remodeling the shop I discovered someone had allowed spray foam to get on the top drawer of my snap on Box. It's orange spray foam and I have no idea how I should try and remove it without damaging the paint. Anyone have any suggestions what may work?

Acetone will eat thru to the paint. Goo gone would be my first choice, then Id try some mineral spirits on a rag.

+1 on Goo Gone. I like the gel form, you can spray it on and it'll cling while it soaks into the foam.

Wait, I remember reading about how to remove it. You need a pint of urine from a mad llama, a teaspoon of blood from a pet rock, and some unicorn tears.

Those llamas on the run last week looked pretty mad..... Did anyone get a urine sample?

I don't know of any solvents that will remove that off paint. The only way is to do it mechanically, try to scrape as much off as you can with a plastic putty knife or something like this that will not scratch the paint, then maybe a buffer wheel?

Great Stuff actually has a package of "Wipes" that are made specifically for removing spray foam. "Dow GREAT STUFF Work Wipes - Safe, Fast Clean Up" $4-5 for a 30/pack. item #132632, or #359308-24
Heres 3 good LINKS---

From website - "Work Wipes are formulated to be safe for cleaning hands tools and most hard surfaces. Simply put GREAT STUFF Work Wipes work great. "
It says for uncured foam, but once u get the majority off with ur hand or scraper it will clean the small amount or residue left.
I have a package and have rarely used it. I do know its not a very common product, but it might be a lot safer than acetone which we all know could possibly eat away at the paint. Not sure whats in the wipes, Ill look today and get back to u. I've used it on painted items before with no problems. If u cant find it at ur local stores do a quick search on ebay, google, or wherever u go. I'd search 1st to know cost for sure, find product code or item #s, then maybe call around to local hardware stores. I'd also recommend a set of plastic scrapers - after SPF hardens - most of the time it will just pop right off, its easier to wait til it cures and it'll just pop off. I use spray foam almost daily so I'm used to working with it. And ALWAYS wear prot. gloves - nitrile or latex or something to keep it off ur skin. oh yeah - I bought a 3pc plastic scraper set at Dollar Store/Dollar General a few weeks ago for $1-2 - cheap enuf IMO.

I've also read that olive oil (or similar) will help remove it, or Orange Glo 2n1 furniture polish, or any of the "Orange" cleaners (hand cleaners like Gojo or similar).
never tried those myself.

use buffer and compound to remove last signs and shine back up
