Spray Gun

I am looking to get a spray gun to use to repaint my motorcycle. I would like to get a good one, but am confused as to what size to get.
Can anyone here who paints for a living give me a few pointers. I was thinking of a gravity fed gun but not sure what else I should know in selecting one. Thanks in advance

There are many threads on this subject. Some of it is just chevy/ford banter and all-things-chinese-**** rants.
What I found interesting was the praise some experienced painters gave the Harbor Freight guns. For a bungling amateur like me the limiting factor on the paint job was lack of skill,not fine details of the gun.

This is the one I started with in the early eighties, have since bought HVLP models, but have yet to find one that does a better job and I always come back to it. It does spray "all over the place" but does a really good job...........I paint outside.

PS...that is a $40 import model.

How much do you plan on painting? If you are only planning a one time job, the Harbor Freight HVLP gun is a pretty good cheap gun that will lay down a great finish and last for a decent while. If you are planning on doing more painting in the future, I would recommend a Devilbiss Finishline gun. They are great guns, are completely rebuildable, and a great buy. They do cost a considerable amount more that the HF but they are worth it if you plan on doing more painting. I personally use Devilbiss guns (GTi) and for primers I use a Finishline, it has served me well the last 6 or so years.
