It was posted here somewhere. If you search for paint spray booths or similar, and look through each thread you should find it. If I recall correctly, it was not the first topic, the fellow that did it added it to someone's else's thread, so it will be buried a bit. I remember 'cause I was thinking it would be hard to find later.

I thought it was here. I knew I'd never find it again, that's why I right clicked and saved.

What kind of mask/breather should I get if I plan on painting in my garage to be sure to protect myself from the fumes? I've been following along on this thread and plan on building temporary booth in my garage and shooting primer/basecoat/clearcoat.

Over the head fresh air is the best because you won't have the advantage that a professional downdraft booth will give you removing the vapors down and away from your face.

Otherwise, one from a paint store with pre filters and activated charcoal filters. It has to fit tight, no facial hair.

If you are using a hardener (isocyanates), you need a fresh air supplied helmet mask, those hardware types just won't cut it.

BTW, explosion proof looks like this...........

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

It will contain an explosion but not prevent it. To prevent it you need an intrinsically safe rating.

I paint outside and stay upwind of that paint. Also hold my breath while the actual spraying is going on.
